Am also researching Matilda Lynes who was my gggrandmother from Waller co Tx. I have portrait of her mother Mary H. Clanton Lynes also known as Polly. Have been searching for Mary's father whom I believe to be Holt Clanton(b. 1759 in Sussex co Va.)They moved to Columbia Co Ga in early 1800s where Matilda was born. I am looking for some documentation linking Mary H.( I believe this to be Holt because Matilda named one of her daughters Celestia Holt Cliett also known as Lilly) to Holt Clanton. My connection is through Bonnie Eloise Cliett Winfree who was Matilda"s daughter and my ggrandmother. Any info on Mary's father? Thanks for any help. Mary's husband was named James.I believe he was born in Md. but lived in Richmond co Ga.Marcy Frede
