Anyone else having this problem of mispelling Lynes ?

I am wondering, how do you pronounce this last name?

I have been trying to figure out the mysterious "Lyons" in my family and have not been successful until I think -- now? I think the census taker maybe -- wrote the name down wrong because I am assuming, now, that it is pronounced, "LINES".

Am I correct?

I am researching Matilda Catherine "Lynes", married to Thomas Chambliss Cliett.

Any..... help is so very appreciated.
