It looks like we are talking about the same person.I have been away from this family for a bit and just now getting back to them. This is what I have so far.
James Lynn born 1812,my g.g. grandfather married to Mary ? and had 4 children, Loren, George, Harriet and Ida with Frances Patten livng with them as a domestic servant, this allaccording to the 1870 census. They were living in Portage, MI.The 1850 census shows James living in Gorham, NY as a farmer with real estate valued at 2,900.Loren does appear, could have been at school but it shows a child named Aurora and one John. The 1860 census shows that he was living in Hamilton, Van Buren, MI again farming. Then the 1880 census shows where Loren was married to Frances (the domestic servant) and they had 3 children, Robert, Charles and Wallace. The census says that James was living with his grandson but when you look at the age and dates I think it was a mistake and should say son.
George, my g. grandfather married Flora Kinney and they had 14 children. The first 6 were born in MI the rest in Neb.Their 10th child was my grandmother.
