Dubberly/Lynn Familes of Tattnall County - CONFUSION
Posted by: N. McBee (ID *****2271) Date: August 17, 2008 at 15:37:21

I've just gotten back to this side of my family and have gotten caught in the Dubberly-Lynn confusion. Since I descend from both, it's important that I straighten this out in my head (and tree).

I descend from Cynthia Dubberly who married Andrew W. Lynn (son of John "Boss" Lynn and his second wife Nancy Cowart). My understanding is that her father was Joseph Dubberly, born abt. 1788 in NC and died 1855 in Tattnall County. Again, my understanding is that Joseph's father was John Dubberly (I have born 1760 in SC and dying 1851 in Tattnall County?).

Then, there is Nancy Dubberly who was the first wife of John "Boss" Lynn. From what I can find, she is NOT the Nancy who was the sister of the Cynthia Dubberly above, but rather was born about 30 years earlier and is the daughter of a John Dubberly and wife Rebekkah. I do not know the birth or death dates on either of those parents.

I feel sure I've gotten these turned around somehow and would appreciate assistance from other Dubberly/Lynn family in untangling the mess!

Thanks for your help.
