George Martin Lynn, b July 6, 1849, Gorham, Ontario County, N.Y.; d. Feb., 1920, Dallas (Gregory), S.D., was NOT the son of another GEORGE Lynn.He was the son of James and Mary S. Lynn.
George is age one in the 1850 census of Gorham in the household of his parents, James and Mary S. Lynn.
George is age ll in the 1860 census of Hamilton, Van Buren County, Michigan in the household of his parents, James and Mary Lynn.
George is age 21 in the 1870 census of Portage, Kalamazoo County, Michigan in the household of his parents, James and Mary Lynn.
George is age 30 in the 1880 census of Texas, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, with his wife, Flora, age 26, and their children: John H., age 5; James E., age 2; and Horace, age 3 months.
George's father, James Lynn, age 68, is in the 1880 census of West Point, Cuming County, Nebraska, in the household of George's brother, Loren Lynn (age 37) and wife, Frances (Patten).
Loren Lynn is called "Aurora" Lynn in the 1850 and 1860 census, and "Loren" Lynn in the 1870 and 1880 census.
George's father, James Lynn, is age 37 in the 1850 census, age 47 in the 1860 census, age 58 in the 1870 census, and age 68 in the 1880 census, in which he said that he was born in New York, and that his father and mother were both born in Ireland.
