Jerrold, thanx for replying to my message.
The specifics I know about my Patrick Lynskeys is as follows:
The Patrick Lynskey that married Mary Disken is mentioned several times in a small book titled "Milltown Sketches" by Christy Molloy, thats about all I know about him or her. The reason I am positive about their relationship is because I have the birth certificates of their three children, Thomas l864, Patrick 1866 and Margaret l868.
According to the l910 US Census, Patrick immigrated to the US during l885. He married Mary Wall (my Grandmother) on 6/24/1898. My father, Patrick George Lynskey was born on 7/4/1899. Mary Wall died on 10/16/1899 from complications associated with Asthma. Patrick placed his new infant son in the care of Mary Mooney, an aunt of Mary Wall.
Mary Mooney eventially married and became Mary Tobin. She raised my father, Patrick George Lynskey through his formative years. He was always known as George James Tobin and in l941, offically change his name and our family name to Tobin.
I would definitely like to go further back in the Patrick Lynskey/Mary Disken lineage and intend to peruse the local Mormon Satellite Library when I return from summer vacation.
The particular Milltown that the Patrick Lynskey clan lived at, occupies the middle ground between the towns of Tuam in Co. Galway and Claremorris in Co. Mayo. My wife and I visited in l998. A quaint little settlement along the county highway, with the usual grocery, hardware, church, two pubs, etc.
Many Thanx for the reply,
