I don't know about Josiah's middle initial being a "U." - he is not "my" Josiah. All I know is that the 1850 Morgan Co., IN, census shows him as "Josiah W. Lyster and in 1860-1870 Sullivan Co., IN, he has no middle initial shown, so all I've seen is what I posted. My only interest in this family is per my query: William Lyster and Lucinda Loyd/Lloyd who went missing after the 1880 Nebraska census. Lucinda was a half-sister of my ancestor.
