I recently received from my uncle a packet of family documents, most of which were wills, deeds, and other papers concerning my Connolly and Sullivan ancestors, all dating from the late 1800’s. Included in this packet were three curious items, two of which were cards stating that a Jude Francis Morgan, SS. CC. was ordained Priest on June 6, 1950. The third is an invitation which states, “Mr. and Mrs. George A. Morgan announce the Ordination to the Holy Priesthood of their son the Reverend Jude Francis Morgan of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts on Tuesday, the sixth of June Nineteen hundred and fifty at eight o’clock Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Washington, District of Columbia and cordially invite you to offer with him his First Solemn Mass on Sunday, the eleventh of June at eleven o’clock Church of SS. Peter and Paul Fall River, Massachusetts.”
A google search revealed that Father Jude Morgan served at least in the 1970's at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Wellfleet. Does anyone out there know him? I would like do find out why these cards were within my family papers.
