Thank you all for your responses. I came across writings from my Uncle, Albert Reed Walker, who wrote the following: "It seemed to me that one of the best things about moving to Orleans (1920 - from Medford) was that I had a very strong sense of belonging. We were related to a good many townspeople: Cole, Taylor, Doane, Mayo, Rogers, Knowles, Paine, and without a doubt others. Linell and Crosby could be added, as well, to the list of relatives." The lines are clear now. Now I need to read more in my Mother's copy of the "Book of Doane (1964).
