Hi Lauren: My research involves googling and checking out everything catalogued on IGI. So I’m just copying others’ mistakes. I don’t trust anything much before 1600 because it wasn’t until 1588 when Elizabeth I made it mandatory for all births, marriages and deaths to be officially recorded. Although before that time, I think that one’s ancestry was carefully documented so that one could prove he/she was entitled to something, like Henry VII knocking off Richard III and becoming king in 1485. But just to make sure Henry married Elizabeth, daughter of Edward IV, who was rightfully queen. So, I haven't "discovered" yet who were the parents of Sarah Clarke Davis Rist, or verified whom she married (except for George Davis) but I do read that Sarah Rist/Rise was charged with withcraft! Much of my quest involves looking for when and where my husband’s family and mine coincide. So we're off to Ireland in May. I enjoy meeting “cousins” on line, (Bill Gates hasn’t written back yet) and thanks for e-contacting me! Gail Notify Administrator about this message?
