I live in Barnstable County and work in the library system. No on has cut back their hours, but you can check hours before you stop by on this website:

Sturgis has an excellent collection and the Nickerson room is worthwhile, depending on what you are researching. If you have ancestors in Yarmouth their historical society is also excellent and they are very helpful. You may want to call them ahead of time and arrange a good time to visit. They have many old documents and photographs.

Finally, I hear this group is very good, though I have not spoken with them or seen their collection:

Best of luck in your search -
Nancy
