I understand why you say that parents aren't always listed in the census. I just wish I could locate at least a few census that would name an older man and woman who could be the parents. Maybe it would give me something more to go on. The Chase members here are a bit of a jumble, age wise as far as figuring which one is related to the other. However, in Medina, Ohio, Emeline Chase married Ai Seeley Powers on Dec 13, 1857. I have Ai Seeley's father, Samuel Almanson Powers 2nd or 3rd wife as Almena Chase. I have them marrying on Dec 9, 1853. So, maybe Almena and Emeline are mother/daughter who married Ai Seeley/Samuel father/son? Below is census info someone gave me. I will look into these Chase children and see if they're related to the Chase's from Cape Cod. Thank you very much for your help, I really do appreciate it. Ida m. Ezra SQUIRES 6. Timothy m. ? ; Civ War 7. Emily m. Hiram LEDYARD 8, Dwight ???? [he may actually be Dwight CHASE] I obtained the names from death certs of some of the ch of these folks. 1850 Litchfield, Medina OH CHASE, Hanna 28 MA Charles 18 NY George 14 OH **Emeline 9 OH Angeline 6 OH Adelbert 3 OH I have no idea what the relationship might be. 1850 is the earliest census that has "every name" 1860 same place POWERS Samuel 59 VT Almena 47 Timothy 18 CHASE Angeline 16 Emeline 18 Dwight 12 Adelbert 12 by 1870 the family is in Jones Co IA POWERS A. S. 34 OH Emeline 27 OH Lydia R 11 OH Harrison V 8 OH Frank 2 IA next door is Seely/Emeline. I think she was enumerated 2x. Notify Administrator about this message?
