Bradley Dorothy Elizabeth (Mackin) Bradley, 92, of Salem, died on March 31, 2009, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late James J. Bradley. Born in Medford on January 19, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Quigley) Mackin. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s School in Lynn and Salem Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Bradley raised her family in Salem. She worked for the city of Salem as a public health nurse, primarily as a school nurse for many parochial schools. Mrs. Bradley was a nurse at Hearne Internment Camp, a prisoner of war camp in East Texas, during World War II. She was a member of the Salem Democratic City Committee, Salem Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and the Retired State County and Municipal Employee Association. She was also a longtime Red Sox fan. Mrs. Bradley’s family would like to thank the staff at Hunt Nursing and Retirement for the care and support they had given to their mother. Mrs. Bradley is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Catherine Bradley of Danvers; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Anthony Saratora of Danvers and Dorothy Bradley of Quincy; four grandchildren, Louisa Saratora, Johanna Baldassarri and James and Johnna Bradley; and a great-granddaughter, Alice Evelyn. She was recently predeceased by her brother, Arthur J. Mackin of Salem. Visiting hours are Thursday, April 2, 4-8 p.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
