What actual records do you have that say McDaid? I see all of the records found in MA vitals seem to say McDevitt. The 1900, 1910 and 1920 MA census ALL have forms of McDavitt/McDevett/McDevitt.

Is it possible that McDaid was just an error by someone on one record? I notice it (McDaid) is very close to being "McDavid" which would be a form of McDevitt/McDavitt. It's only missing the V.
