I am researching the MACE family. This family originated near London, and left for the Netherlands in late 1500's, escaping religious persecution. I have seen the name spelled: MACE, MASE, MAES, MacE, MAAS.

My family story is that three or four MACE brothers, all sons of Abraham Mace, came to the colonies. The sons were Abraham, Adam, Henry and (possibly) Jacob.

Could there be a connection? Do you know if the MAAS family you seek were in the Netherlands a long time, or if they had come there from England or France (possibly Huguenots).

Thank you.
