Re. this subject, there is a fostering or indenturing contracton the Mabe website concerning the children of Sarah (or Sally) Mabe. She had Hiram Mabe(who then went to Brown County,Indiana and had William Franklin Mabe and then Mary Mabe, wife of Thomas Swain). But its all a bit hazy unless you are knowledgeable about the circumstances and traditions of the time.
