Hi Judy,
According my records Jerry's father was Ted Leonard Mabe. Ted was married to Grace Houck they had these children: Leonard, Joan, Herbert Jerry, Larry, Teddy, Deliah, Jack, Mary, and Joy. If you want to do further research I have included Ted's father's family group sheet:

Emerson Mabe
Emerson W. Mabe, 77, of Pasadena died Feb 20 at North Arundel Hospital. The
cause of death was not available.
He was born Jan 27, 1924, in Prathers Creek, NC., and lived in Middle River
prior to Pasadena, where he lived for 20 years.
Mr. Mabe was a welder for General Motors for 30 years and retired in 1982.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 8849 and a life member of Disabled American Veterans
Chapter 1.
Mr. Mabe also belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He enjoyed working on small engines.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Eleonore C. Mabe; one son, David E.
Mabe of Middle River; two daughters, Deborah J. Harrison of Aberdeen and
Darlene R. Leistner of Prattsville, Ala.; one brother, Opal Mabe of
Greenboro, NC; one sister, Ruth McGrady of Sparta, NC; four grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Phillip Leistner Thursday at
Stallings Funeral Home. Interment was in Holly Hills Cemetery.
