Hi David, Thanks for the recap of information on Reuben Mabe. It is sparse indeed which makes it most difficult to trace his heritage. Except for the bastardly bond claim by Elizabeth Goodman and the other information about David Mabe, I have included the facts that you listed and others in my analysis. You know there is another David Mabe that shows up in the 1860 White County, TN census. He is much younger than the David in the 1850 Hawkins County census. It could be possible that he is the David Mabe mentioned in the 1855 and 1857 cases that you cited. Any way I have put together this analysis about Reuben's family in Reuben's NOTE Section in the on-line book and would appreciate receiving from anyone their comments or questions regarding it. In summary the analysis is not complete by any means and should not be interpreted as proof of anyone's genealogical roots. It is just 'One Man's Opinion' which is based on an analysis of the known facts about Reuben Mabe and the Mabe families residing in Tennessee and North Carolina in 1850s, 1860s, and 1870s.
