There was a Marion Duggins that died in the Civil War. Here is the information that I found on him:

State Served: North Carolina
Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 1 June 1861 at the age of 23.
Enlisted in Company H, 22nd Infantry Regiment North Carolina on 1 Jun 1861.
Died of disease Company H, 22nd Infantry Regiment North Carolina on 2 Dec 1861 at Camp Holmes.
