Hi John,

My maiden name is Maben and I live in Australia but I'm currently in Fiji for a few years. I was just surfing the net and read your emails about "Mabens" it's all so fastinating. I didn't realise how many of us are out there.

I don't know alot about my family history but know that my Great Great Grandfather William Maben came from Glasgow, Scotland and sailed to New Zealand where he married Jane Gaunt who was Governess to the Governors children in New Zealand. They later moved to Melbourne.

We have an old Family Bible and it says how they moved from castle to castle. We believe he was working as a carpenter in the castles.

Sorry I can't shed more light. Would love to learn anything new you can shed on this.

Thanks

Mandy Maben
