The name Maban derives from Mabon which was ancient British Ma means son of and in Welsh is still used for 'son'. The name is mainly found around southern Scotland and Cornwall ie western seaboard. There was a god Mabon who was worshiped in the pre-christian period. Hope this helps. Gill Notify Administrator about this message?
