Hallo Peter! We were just thinking about your first message when we found your second one. It would be amazing if the John Henry Maberley you mention was in fact Peter's great-great-grandfather. And as for being able to trace the family line back to the middle of the 17th century - wow! We won't get too excited yet though - just in case! I was only able to spend a little while looking for John Henry Maberley on the Internet - our daughter, Rochelle, needed the computer for work on her PhD which has to take preference! - and all I have discovered so far was that someone by that name was married at St George's in Hanover Square in 1890. To be honest, that sounds a little too upmarket for the Iver Heath Maberleys. Having said that, we have a bible which was presented to Henry Maberley (aged about 9) in 1899 as a school prize from All Saints School in Knightsbridge, so they must have been living in London at that time. Somewhere between 1899 and the start of the first world war, they moved to Iver Heath, because that's where the brothers enlisted. I'm now going to go back to the photographs on the Maberly Family site, so that we can compare them with the ones we have. I'll be in touch again when I find anything else out. Many thanks!
