Very early days and this is a very small branch of my family. However, it does look as though the Mabey family came from the Isle of Wight area of England.
I have a lilly Janet Mabey (daughter of Gustavus - not a very English name!). She was born around 1883 in Camberwell London and married one Alfred William Oxford Heartfield - upon which they went to Australia. The Heartfield line happily lives on in Adelaide and realtions of Alfred are scattered throughout the UK.
