We've always wondered where the name came from. I've read through other postings and was pretty sure that it had Welsh or Scottish beginnings. I just need to find anyone with that surname who lived in or around Somerville, Tennessee. We are of African descent and all of the Mabons I have encountered in this part of the country are of African descent as well.
