I believe you may be right. It does appear
that there are several groups of people in this area who at one time or another had a connection to a plantation somewhere possibly in Fayette County here in Tennessee. My father told me that there was an article printed in the local newspaper about it, but so far I haven't been able to locate the article or any info on the plantation. Anyway, the names vary from in spelling. The funny thing is that I have a brother-in-law whose father has features very similar to those of my late grandfather.
