There were no doubt Mabon's in Ireland. So far I have found the name listed in Dumfries, Scotland in the 17th Century. (It is also spelled Maben.) Many of the low land Scots were asked to go to what is now North Ireland by King James I of England. It seems the low lands of Scotland or the most Southern portions were overcrowed at that time. This has caused problems in later years.
