Samuel Elmore Mabrey of Searcy Co., AR, was my grandfather. My father, Herschel Densmore Mabrey, b. 3/9/1907 d. 8/22/1987 was the last of nine children. Samuel E. Mabrey died before I was born, 1942. I've heard stories of S.E.'s talents: Postmaster (Elberta 8/11/1905)and blacksmith but little about a store. My father, late in his life, told me that he and his first older brother, Lawson, paid their father's unpaid note on a piece of property in town after their father died. That was the first and only time I heard anything about any property or activity in Leslie. All S.E.'s children are deceased.
