My great, great grandfather, John H. Mabry was born in Olney, Alabama in 1870. His father was Joe A. Mabry and mother was Ellen Adeline Cowsert. We were told our grandfather was indian, maybe part. Cherokee? He was killed over a land dispute in Guthrie, Ok in 1899, leaving my grandmother, Sannie Austin, with an infant daughter who was was my grandmother.
We would be most grateful for any info you can share with us.
