I'm researching this family for someone who married into one of my lines. Her great-grandfather is Foster Mabry of Pickens Co, AL & Trinity, TX. Your forum may already have the following information, but, if so, I couldn't find it. In the 1850 census, Union Dist, SC, there is a family with names too similar to NOT be the multi-spelled or mispelled DAVIDSON-BENERSON-DONALDSON MABRY of Pickens Co, AL, and Trinity, TX. I believe the 1850 DONALDSON MABRY (sp. Maberey) to be Davidson/Benerson. Age only 2 yrs difference. He has a brother named FOSTER and one named DANIEL. The AL/TX FOSTER MABRY had a son named DANIEL and a son named HENRY. If this is the right family, the AL/TX Foster Mabry was named after his uncle, and he named his own oldest son after his uncle Daniel and his youngest son after his grandfather, this HENRY MABRY. There are also several "James' families living around the Union Dist, SC family, including, uh, JESSE JAMES. Here is the family: 1850 South Carolina Census Union District, Page 54 Henry Maberry - age 45 - farmer - SC Lolly - age 45 - SC Donaldson - age 22 - laborer - SC (DAVIDSON?)
