Carmen did you actually see the name spelled
MAIBUS in German reference material? All of the German material I ever looked at, spelled the name MOBUS/MEBUS. In Ms. & SC they use MABUS. I never saw the MAIBUS spelling, until I saw the record where CHRISTOPH came in to SC. The families in Illinois use the spelling MEBUS, and some in
PA. use MABUS. The name MOBUS in Germany had
two dots over the O. I am sure you wouldd know more abt. that than I would. My wife had a distant cousin that was Governor of
Mississippi for four years(RAYMOND MABUS)
