Carla: JAMES WILLIIAM MABUS does not "ring"
any bells for me, but you never know. My
wife was born MAGGIE MAY MABUS in 1922 in
Wood county Texas. As far as we know her MABUS line came direct fronm Germany to S.C.
They then moved in to MS. and her G-Grandfather,JACOB R. MABUS, moved to LA. by
1860 & to Smith Co. Tx. by 1870. I do know
that many families by that name were in PA. early. Also many families (MEBUS) were in IL. Let me know iif you find anything new.
