My gr-gr grandfather is Martin Mabus, b.Sept. 3, 1857 in Honhardt,Baden-Wurttemburg. He married Saloma Rothenberger in Germany and immigrated to the US, moving to Fostoria,Seneca Co., Ohio in June 1882 (according to family history). Son Fred, b. Oct. 1879 in Germany, d. 1901/1902 Seneca Co.,Oh;other children: Martin Jr. b. Oct, 15, 1888; Katie b. Jan. 7, 1883; Rose Mary b. Mar. 26, 1885; Albert b. May 14, 1897; and Minnie May b. June 13, 1889.
After death of Saloma in 1896 Martin Sr. married Susan Felterberger/Feltenberger. I have just recently received a copy of the obit for Martin Sr. and it lists his father as Michael. They may have settled briefly in WV, according to my new "cousin". In Fostoria census records I have found a Frederick and a Lena(b.Indiana), but cannot tie them in yet.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Any chances of getting a copy or copies of pages from this book that some of you are talking about?
Sincerely,
Ruth Sprowls
