My maternal grandfather, Domenico Anthony Macaluso, immigrated to the United States from Ribera, Sicily around the turn of the century, maybe a bit later, but he served in the American Army during WWI. He settled on the Texas Gulf Coast and operated a truck farm. He married, either before or during WWI, my maternal grandmother, Francesca Mancuso, who was the daughter of Rossario Mancuso from Corleone, Sicily.
