Re 1825 birth - New South Wales Births Marriages & Deaths
I have 'found' an entry for the birth of a George F. Hawkins in 1825 on the index searches for that state, i.e. http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/GenAccess.
The parents listed are Hannibal Hawkins & Anne M(McArthur), presumably Hawkins too.
Could any reader provide me with info on either of these two parents, eg where they lived in the UK, did they return etc. No further evidence is available here in Australia on them although I have covered an extensive search? I realise there is a lot of information on MacArthur available, but nothing connected to the name of Hannibal (Hawkins). For info. I am a descendant of the child George, whom I think married a Caroline May, had a son Joseph born in the Colony of NSW/Victoria in 1850, but proving these facts is difficult. Would appreciate any snippet of info no matter no small. Thanks in advance...phyl from melbourne
