Have found in my attic a 1957 Bulletin announcing .....
"MACARTHUR REUNION, DURHAM COMMUNITY CENTRE, SATURDAY JUNE 29TH, 1957"

inside text ....

"Colin MacArthur and Catherine MacEachnie came from the Isle of Mull, Argyleshire, and settled north of Durham in the Glenelg Township in 1843

Donald MacArthur and Mary MacKinnon came from the Isle of Mull, Argyleshire, and settled at Bunessan, in Glenelg Township in 1849

John MacArthur and Catherine Campbell came from the Isle of Iona, Argyleshire, and settled in Bruce, near Paisley, about the same time as above but year unknown.

You are cordially invited to be present to honour these pioneers and their descendants; to greet old friends and meet new ones."

.... programme and officers noted ....

"THERE IS NOTHING OLDER
UNLESS THE HILLS,
MACARTHUR,
AND THE DEVIL.
(old Highland Proverb)"
