After much searching, I was able to find someone with an old letter that gives the name of Alonzo McArthur's father. Gilderoy McArthur immigrated to Canada from Scotland and fathered Alonzo. Alonzo married Rhoda Lincoln.
In a recent email, someone said that Gilderoy's father was also Gilderoy. I'd like to be able to verify this and determine their origin in Scotland to continue research.
