Hello Peter...thanks for that information. I think perhaps we haven't got a match. I have since done a bit more digging and think that Catherine's father was possibly Duncan McArthur who married Mary McIntyre. If I am right then my Catherine was born on 20 Oct 1834 in Portnahaven but I'm still investigating that route to see if I am on the right track. I know the wedding date is correct and that she was married in Glasgow and, as far as I can see, did not go back so I need to establish if this Catherine did leave the Isle.
I appreciate your help with this - even if it is just eliminating someone.
