I am also researching William Thomson (b. abt 1835) and Catherine McArthur, married 31 December 1857 in Glasgow, as a favor to a friend, who is a descendant of the aforementioned through their youngest child, Agnes Gardiner Thomson (1872-1950) who ended up in Seattle, WA. I believe Catherine McArthur is from Islay, her parents Mary McIntyre and Duncan McArthur, his parents John McArthur and Margaret McCallum, and then John McArthur's parents Samuel McArthur and Florence McNicholl. Not positive on this however.
Is there anyone who knows William Thomson's parents' and/or siblings' names and birthdates? I have a good amount of info about Agnes and her husband's family, the McDougalls of Isle of Muck and Isle of Mull, Scotland. I would greatly appreciate any info. Thanks!
