I am not positive, but I think that the relatives that you may be referring to are Daniel McArthur born in 1741 in Scotland, possibly Islay, and Jennette McArthur, also born in Scotland. They lived in North Carolina and their descendents moved to Georgia and later some moved on to Texas. Daniel and Jennette both came from McArthur lines, however I have been told that they were not from the same McArthur lineage. I have been told that Daniel came to America, purchased land, went back to Scotland, married and brought his wife Jennette back to America. They settled in North Carolina. Daniel is buried at Longstreet cemetery at Fort Bragg North Carolina and his wife Jennette is buried in Hoke County, North Carolina. I have heard that we were distantly related to General Douglas McArthur.
