I FOUND SOME INFORMATION ON REV. R. CUMMING WHO MARRIED THEM. I don't know if there are any records at the First Carmel Church. I don't even know if it still exists, or in what form, but could you tell me if this church is still around and if they have any records/documents from around 1881 and forward from then? He was there for 30 years...there must be something he left. I suspect he knew my entire family.

The first Carmel Church was erected in 1870, but while the dedication services were in progress, it was burned to ashes. A new church was soon erected, and Rev. John Lees was called to be pastor, 1873 to 1879. Rev. Robt. Cumming, D.D., was called in 1881 and resigned in 1912, closing a most happy and successful pastorate of 31 years. Rev. D. A. Frame is present pastor, 1913.
