My last message did confuse matters. I have found that there were two John Mac(C)Askill both married to Catherine MacLeod, and both couples of about the same ages, with some of the children of same names and ages. My lot is from Berneray/Harris, while the Catherine who died in 1874 in Stornoway was the wife of the other one. My Catherine died between 1871 and 1884, but I have not managed to find her yet.
