I was just browsing the internet when I came across the McAskill genealogy page and became curious. I also am one who was told thatI was related to the famous giant. Names that are repeated in my family: John, Frank, Charles and Ed. My grandfather was born in the late 1800's. I'm not sure where. His name was Charles Edward McAskill and he married a Sophie Kalenoski. I think he had a brothe Frank and a brother joe. My father, Frank, was born in Chelsea, MA.
Do you have any info on when "McAskill" and "MacAskill" became interchangable in some family lines?
Thanks, Frank
