My name is Sharon McAsey (only one S ) and I was wondering if I have a connection to your family of McAssey's. I have descended from Thomas McAsey. Thomas was born in 1812 in Goresbridge, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Thomas married Elizabeth Walshe. Most of their children were born in Ballyellen, County Carlow, Ireland. Their names are Michael b. 1838, James b. 1840, John b. 1843, Maria b. 1845 and Elizabeth b. 1849. Thomas and his family came to Australia during the mid 1850's.
