My post 1214 sets out what I know, it also shows where the Firths come in. Obviously there's various descendant lines that haven't been pursued. The big problem with the Huddersfield Macaulays is generation 1. Oral history is that that Alexander and his brothers went from Scotland, but no match has been found there for births approximating their birth years. One researcher advised me that Rebecca (wife of Alexander in gen 2) was a very unScottish name. Make of that what you will. Family documents are not in my possession and are held by a relative who lives several continents ways from me. As other posts have pointed out the authentic Macaulay clan documents are held in Scotland but are not accessible. Notify Administrator about this message?
