Margaret M’Aulay, identified as relict of William Butcher, mariner and shipmaster, Greenock, and spouse of John Macfarlane of Auchenvennell, appears in the retours of 10 Oct 1761 [Vol 9, Folio 291], and is evidently a different person than the Margaret M’Aulay, daughter of Alexander M’Aulay, brother of Archibald M’Aulay of Ardincaple, and spouse of Parlan M’Walter of Auchenvennell appears in the retours 28 Feb 1734 [Vol 7, Folio 63 rather than Folio 62].
