I noted down some McAulay deaths that are legible in the Dumbarton Parish records 1642-1795. My observations are in brackets.
1. Anna, Janet, Margaret and Mary all died between 1700 and 1709. Parents were Aulay and Margaret McAulay.
2. Janet Black spouse of Alexander McAulay buried July 27th 1711.
3. Robert McAulay son of the Laird of Ardincaple buried March 3rd 1717. ( His father was Archibald 1661-1725)
4. Margaret McAulay daughter of the deceased Alexander McAulay March 9th 1718.
( The only Margaret with a father Alexander recorded in the Dumbarton birth register up to 1718 was born to Baillie Alexander McAulay and Anna Nisbit in Nov 1679).
5. Janet McAlpine relict of John McAulay buried Sept 2nd 1720.
6. James son of Aulay McAulay died 1723. ( Probably the first son born to Aulay and Jean Wilson in 1722)
7. Mrs Elizabeth McAulay spouse to William Donaldson of Murroch died July 1725. There was also a child lost in Dec 1723. ( Elizabeth was the daughter of Archibald the Laird of Ardincaple; the couple married in 1720)
8. Aulay McAulay maltman died Oct 26TH 1732. (His wife was Jean Wilson mentioned in No 6 above. They had one surviving child named John born in 1726).
