I have a record of John Macaulay Carrick being born/baptised to Alexander and Jean in Glasgow dated Nov 4th 1804.It is interesting that your family were into Glass
Manufacturing, as they were connected to the Dixons of Dumbarton who were one of the leading manufacturers of Glass.Jean was baptised on Jan 21st 1775 in Dumbarton and was the daughter of John Macaulay Town Clerk of Dumbarton until his death in 1799. Her eldest sister Katherine Ann married Jacob Dixon the owner of the Glass company in 1791.Sorry I cannot be more helpful.
