Hi! My husband is Maurice McAshan Adams. He has just gotten interested in the family research. We were told in Scotland that McAshan was a corruption of another name, but they were not sure which one. I suspect you two are related. I've forwarded your post to him and perhaps you'll hear from him. His e-mail is and mine is His earliest McAshan patriarch is Nehemiah (could you have misspelled it?) We are researching him right now - he is supposed to have been killed by Indians in Quanah, Texas (near the OK border) and we've requested some information on him from there. We live in Texas.
