Ah, I have gone astray--the other night, I could not remember the old man's first name (my grandfather). I was born when my own father was 45 years old, so by the time I was old enough to listen and recall important events, my grandfather was ancient. He died when I was ten years old. My father's generation is completely gone, and the girl cousins I knew married and we lost touch with each other.

Today, I did some digging and discovered GR father's first name, (or the one we knew him by) was William H., there may be a problem there because I think his Canadian family thought his name was John ("Oh what a starnge and tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive...", or something like that) but he was born (purportedly) in 1868, there was dispute about that too, the death record says 1870. So if he was born in 68, or even 58--he would have been too young to have been your Gr.Gr Grandfather's brother. My Gr father named his children Henry, Neil, Eva, John, (and I recall my father said my Uncle Jack was named after an Uncle John--so that may be your Gr. Grandfather), ... Jean, David, and Irma. I mention names because families often re-use names of loved ones.

So, you would be third cousin -- besides the cousin in the neighboring town, a doctor of Osteopathy, and the huge Canadian tribe, you are almost the only kin I have found.

Do you have a weird sense of humor? Or is that only indigenous to our branch of the family ? Are you tall or short? Are you handsome? All of my people are beautiful, brilliant (and humble). Just ask us.
