My grandfather had brothers who went to Australia. Our name is MacDermid, sometimes spelled McDermid, due to the omission of an aumlaut over the 'C" (which would indicate the letter "A" had been left out).

My grandfather immigrated from Scotland --Isla, specifically to Canada, then to the U.S. See my long message to the other postee, Bryan.
